The North German Foundation for Environment and Development (NUE) is an environmental foundation in northern Germany. It is managed by a voluntary board of directors and a full-time office. It was founded in 1999 by environmental and one world organizations from northern Germany and is based in Hamburg . She works constantly with the Senate of the Hanseatic City of Hamburg and the state government of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania , the NDR and lottery companies .
Activity and funding
Since 1999, the foundation has promoted projects from a broad spectrum of commitment to nature and the environment as well as global development-related projects in accordance with Agenda 21 in Hamburg and Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania .
The NUE's funding comes from donations and surpluses from the “ BINGO ! The environmental lottery ” in Hamburg and Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. The foundation offers to support its activities through endowments, donations, sponsoring , project sponsorships and sponsorship awards.
Individual supported projects
The NUE promotes future projects in terms of sustainable development. For the 20th anniversary of the foundation, the Minister for Agriculture and Environment Dr. Till Backhaus expressed the importance of the foundation in his address: “ Environmental protection and sustainable action begin on your own doorstep. Many find climate change bad, only a few change something in everyday life. But that's where we can make a difference. We can only make a regional, national or global change if we break our own habits. This is where the North German Foundation for Environment and Development has been working for 20 years now. "
