The German Reich took part in the Nordic World Ski Championships in Cortina d'Ampezzo in 1927 with a delegation of 10 athletes.

Team leader was the veteran Munich skier Karl Hailer . The majority of the athletes with seven men came from the Bavarian Ski Association , plus Recknagel from Thuringia and two active members of the Austrian Ski Association .

Since the ÖSV had left the International Ski Association , the German Ski Association took over the registration of two athletes selected by the ÖSV for the World Championships. However, since the national associations were only allowed to report their immediate citizens, an exception was made at the request of the organizing country of Italy in the sense of the sport so that the two Austrians Rudolf Neyer and Hugo Hörtnagl could start. However, your results count officially for the German Ski Association.
