Northern Black Forest Line

The northern Black Forest pipeline is a natural gas pipeline of Terranets BW between Au am Rhein and Leonberg, which was completed in 2016 .

The 71 km long pipeline is used to transport gas from the Trans-Europa-Naturgas-Pipeline (TENP), i.e. from the network operators Open Grid Europe and fluxys , to the Terranets BW network. It was made in L 415 MB / NB steel pipes with a nominal diameter of 600 millimeters and a wall thickness of 10 millimeters with an inner coating and polyethylene sheathing and is designed for an operating pressure of 80 bar. It runs from the network coupling point to the TENP near Au am Rhein via Ettlingen , Waldbronn , Ispringen , Niefern-Öschelbronn , Wiernsheim and Rutesheim to Leonberg near Stuttgart . In the course of the pipeline, three measuring and control systems with a flow capacity of 300,000 m 3 / h each were installed in Au am Rhein, Ettlingen and Leonberg.

history

Planning for the 80 million euro investment project began in January 2008. The planning approval decision for the 15-kilometer first line section from TENP to Ettlingen was issued in July 2012; construction was completed in 2014. The second section to Leonberg was approved in September 2014 Built in 2015/2016. On January 22, 2016, the line was symbolically put into operation in the presence of the Minister for the Environment, Climate Protection and Energy in Baden-Württemberg, Franz Untersteller .
