Nork-Marash ( Armenian Նորք-Մարաշ ) is a district of Yerevan , the capital of the Republic of Armenia . In 2016 Nork-Marasch had a population of 11,800. With an area of 4.6 km 2 , Nork-Marasch is the smallest of the twelve districts of Yerevan. Nork-Marasch is located east of the city center.
The district was founded by survivors of the Armenian genocide in 1917 in the Ottoman Empire , who were expelled from the city of Kahramanmaraş in what is now Turkey .
Nork-Marash is home to the 311.7 m high Yerevan television tower , Armenia's public broadcasting company ARMTV and the Nork-Marash Medical Center teaching hospital .
