Norman Wolf

Norman S. ("Norm") Wolf (born July 22, 1927 in Kansas City , Missouri ; † January 24, 2017 in Seattle , United States ) was an American veterinarian and professor of pathology at the University of Washington . Wolf was one of the first scientists to seriously study geroscience, the science of aging . He was particularly interested in cellular aging processes and the aging of the lens in different species , especially in connection with age-related cataracts , and the role of sirtuin-1 in the aging process. On these topics he published various articles in the scientific literature. In addition, Wolf was also the editor of the standard work The Comparative Biology of Aging .

Wolf died in his Seattle apartment on January 24, 2017, aged 89.
