Norms Weber (born October 16, 1985 in Berlin ) is a German canoeist .

Career

As a child he was taken by his mother in a two-person folding boat and at the age of seven he drove his first regatta in canoe racing on the Fühlinger See in Cologne for the KKM Cologne. In 1997 he switched to white water racing and to FFB Brühl. In 2001 he was nominated for the first time for the national team in the Canadians and was also the first time German champion.

In 2002 Weber won his first international title at the Junior World Championships. In 2006 Weber won gold for the first time at the World Championships in Karlsbad in a team with Stephan Stiefenhöfer and Julian Rohn over the Classic distance. Another gold medal in the team with Julian Rohn and Dominik Pesch followed in 2008 at the World Championships in Ivrea . In 2011 Weber was two-time European sprint champion in Kraljevo ( Serbia ) on the Ibar and won two bronze medals in the team at the world championship on the Augsburg ice channel . On the demanding whitewater course in La Plagne Weber won two world championship silver medals in the two-man canoe together with his partner Rene Brücker in 2012. Weber won his third European title at the 2013 European Championships in Bovec . This was followed by his first world championship title in the sprint singles at the World Championships in Solkan , which was also the highlight of Weber's whitewater career.

Weber was also in the dragon boat between 2006 and 2010 for VfK Wuppertal and is active in Stand Up Paddling (SUP). In 2012 Weber became champion at the SUP championships organized by the German Canoe Association in Neustadt in Holstein .
