The 1975/76 season was the third regular season of the North American Hockey League . The ten teams should complete 74 games in the regular season , but the game plan had to be changed after the Cape Codders prematurely stopped playing. The North American Hockey League was played in two divisions . The team with the highest points in the regular season were the Jaros de Beauce , while the Philadelphia Firebirds prevailed in the final games of the Lockhart Cup .
