The Norwegian Nordic Ski Championships 1938 ( Norwegian Norgesmesterskapet på ski 1938 ) took place from March 12th to 14th, 1938 in Mo i Rana . They were hosted by the local Mo Skilag club and the Norges Ski Federation, the Norwegian Ski Association. Championships in cross-country skiing , ski jumping and Nordic combined were held . It was the first edition of the competition, which had been held since 1909 and was previously called the Hovedlandsrenn , to be referred to as the Norwegian Championship . Only men's competitions were held.

The event in Mo i Rana was in jeopardy until shortly before the start of the competition because not enough snow had fallen. Just a few days before the championship started, there was enough snowfall so that the competitions could start as planned. Before the 30 km cross-country skiing, there was heavy rain, which is why the organizers thought about a cancellation in the meantime, but completely restructured and re-started the race and finally held it. The more than 3500 visitors also included King Haakon VII and Crown Prince Olav , who were present at all competitions during the championships.
