Magnar Fosseide (born August 19, 1913 in Rindal ; † October 1983 ) was a Norwegian skier who was active in Nordic combined and cross-country skiing .
Career
Fosseide, who started for SK Troll , had its greatest successes in the late 1930s. In February 1938 he took part in the Nordic World Ski Championships in Lahti , Finland , where he finished 35th in the individual Nordic Combined competition. He was not nominated for the season. In the cross-country skiing competition over 18 kilometers in classic style, the Norwegian reached 36th place.
At the Norwegian Championship in Mo i Rana in 1938 , Fosseide won the championship title in Nordic Combined and the silver medal in cross-country skiing over 17 km.
He achieved his greatest international success at the Nordic World Ski Championships in Zakopane in 1939 . There he won the bronze medal in combination behind the German Gustav Berauer and the Swede Gustav Adolf Sellin . In the 4 × 10 km relay he took fourth place together with Olav Odden , Erling Evensen and Olaf Hoffsbakken . In the cross-country skiing competition over 18 kilometers in classic style, he improved to 23rd place compared to the previous year.
After he finished his career, he founded the sports shop Magnar Fosseide Sport AS in Trondheim .
