Nosie Katzmann
Jürgen "Nosie" Katzmann (* 1959 in Bad Neustadt an der Saale ) is a German music producer .
In the 1990s he was successful with several Eurodance projects such as Culture Beat or Captain Hollywood Project , for which he wrote hits such as Mr. Vain or More and More and many others.
Career
Nosie Katzmann first appeared on the musical public in early 1989 with the release of the single Change / Shake it by his band Pirates Of Pop on ZYX . Before this release he was a local player in the Rhein-Main area as a singer and front man of various bands, such as The Balloons, Head over Heels and Pill and the Baby Boom. He worked with musicians and producers such as Edo Zanki, Curt Cress and Enrico Zabler, but without his own record deal.
In 1989 the Darmstadt group Out of the Ordinary released their first single on the same label ZYX as Katzmann's Pirates of Pop. While the Pirates of Pop single flopped, Out of the Ordinary became a club hit. Katzmann and the makers behind Out of the Ordinary, Torsten Fenslau and Jens Zimmermann, became friends and decided to record a title together. This title Alone It's Me also became a club hit within a very short time and contributed to Fenslaus' success. The next joint release Der Erdbeermund , this time under the name Culture Beat , was not only an international club hit, but also the first big chart hit by the Fenslau / Zimmermann / Katzmann trio. Together they founded the music publisher Get into Magic and had a whole series of joint international successes (including I Like You and No Deeper Meaning ) in the following years.
Jens Zimmermann left Culture Beat at the end of 1992 and Torsten Fenslau asked Katzmann to work on the upcoming Culture Beat album Serenity , which he wanted to record with his new producer partner Peter Zweier. Katzmann provided the songs, Fenslau / Zweier provided the playbacks and the beats. The result was Culture Beats Mr. Vain , a dance hit in 1993. The album Serenity was also very successful and had a whole range of other hits ( Anything , Got to Get It , World in Your Hands ).
When there were personal and, above all, musical differences between Fenslau and Zimmermann in 1993, they separated and Katzmann began a long-term collaboration with the Rodgau production team DMP, with whom he was able to record some international successes in the following years. The first two DMP / Katzmann co-operations were already club hits, but the third was a global hit: More and More by Captain Hollywood Project. This laid the foundation for a long series of hits from DMP / Katzmann for artists such as Captain Hollywood Project, LOFT, Intermission and others ( Summer Summer , Piece of My Heart , Hold On etc.).
Katzmann wrote other hits for acts like Jam & Spoon ( Right in the Night , Find Me ), Scooter ( Break It Up ) and DJ Bobo ( Love Is All Around , Love Is the Price ). At the end of 1996, Katzmann withdrew a little for health reasons. He sporadically produced artists such as Gil and Judy Weiss . Outside the dance genre, he lent his voice to alternative underground tracks (Phonekiller - Bite ) and occasionally wrote for befriended producers. On the basis of the music publisher Get into Magic, Nosie Katzmann founded the GIM Records label in early 2008.
Since September 2015 he has been recording music under the name Kahne Katzmann together with the guitarist Stefan Kahne .
