Notburga Karl

Notburga Karl (born October 3, 1973 in Regensburg ) is a German artist. She works in the areas of spatial installation , sculpture , video art and performance .

Life

Notburga Karl grew up in Straubing and began her training at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich . She studied fine art with David Rabinowitch at the Düsseldorf Art Academy . In 2000 she became a master student of Jannis Kounellis . With a scholarship from the DAAD , she worked as an assistant to Joan Jonas in New York in 2003/04 . In 2006 she took on a substitute professorship at the Schwäbisch Gmünd University of Education . She currently teaches art education at the Otto Friedrich University in Bamberg .
