Nové Sedliště (German New Zedlisch ) is a district of the municipality Staré Sedliště (German Old Zedlisch ) in the Czech Republic . It is located seven kilometers southeast of Tachov at an altitude of 512  m .

history

The first mention of Zedlissie comes from the year 1177 and means the neighboring Alt Zedlisch . The village of Neu Zedlisch is first mentioned in 1427. The Holy Trinity Church built above the village was cremated during the Thirty Years War and was not restored until the end of the 18th century. In 1792, the glass entrepreneur Franz Koller built the town's castle, which has been preserved to this day.

The town's former Jewish community built a synagogue that no longer exists. The Jewish cemetery on the western outskirts with gravestones from the early 18th century still reminds of the community today .

After the Munich Agreement , the place was added to the German Empire and until 1945 belonged to the Tachau district . In 1945 American soldiers occupied the place. Until 1946, the German residents were forcibly expelled .

In 1991 the place had 85 inhabitants. In 2001 the village consisted of 37 houses in which 78 people lived.
