Between 1772 and 1776 Ignaz Edler von Born was the owner of the Alt Zedlisch manor, but he lived and worked mainly in Prague . In 1785 the castle was rebuilt. Large parts of the town and the town hall were destroyed in the fires of 1790 and 1839. In 1838 a brewery started operations. During the renovation in 1860, the town hall got its present shape.
In today's district of Nové Sedliště there was formerly a synagogue of the local Jewish community. The Jewish cemetery with gravestones from the early 18th century on the western outskirts of Nové Sedliště still reminds of the community.
In 1844 the Marienbad doctor Karl Josef Heidler acquired the manor and the castle remained in the possession of the Heidler family until 1945.
In 1910 Alt Zedlisch received a railway connection with the construction of the line from Plan to Taus . In 1939, 1,195 people lived in the market town.
After the Munich Agreement , the place was added to the German Empire and until 1945 belonged to the Tachau district .
On May 1, 1945 the Americans occupied the place and by 1946 the German residents were expelled.
