history

Promenhof was first mentioned in 1523. Two small castles belong to the place, which were built by order of the landlords in the 18th century, including “U Sv. Vita “, the little castle of St. Veit. At the time, Promenhof belonged to the von Kuttenplan estate .

Mining has been practiced since the 16th century, especially lead, iron and copper ore. An ironworks is mentioned in records from 1749, which was later supplemented by a sheet metal mill and wire mill and only closed in the second half of the 19th century. There was a blue paint factory in the village , which was shut down in 1780 due to the exhaustion of cobalt mining . In 1855 mining began again.

In 1939, 658 people lived in the community, including the districts of Neu Haimhausen and Galtenstallung.

After the Munich Agreement , the place was added to the German Empire and until 1945 belonged to the Tachau district .

Culture and sights

The St. Anna Church located in the village was consecrated in the early 1930s and was a branch church of the Trinity Church in Hinterkotten . It was built according to an inscription at the church entrance "in trust in God ... by Walter Graf von Berchem and the inhabitants of the Promenhof community" in memory of those who fell in the wars. In front of the church there is now a symbolic cemetery for German soldiers who died in World War II.

Since the diocese was unable to renovate the church, St. Anne's Church was transferred to the Broumov parish in 2001. The general renovation of the church was completed in 2006, whereby the material costs and the costs for the work that could not be carried out by community workers and voluntary helpers amounted to around one million Czech crowns.

In the area around the village there are some noteworthy trees, including the Broumover ash on the banks of the Hammerbach.

Community structure

The corridors of the abandoned village Nový Haimhausen ( Neu Haimhausen ) now belong to the municipality . The former district of Jalový Dvůr ( Galtenstallung ) is also deserted, but in the area of the municipality of Chodský Újezd .
