Blue paintwork

The blue color works produced the blue pigment smalt and the raw material for smalt production, safflower , which was obtained from cobalt-containing ore . The factories listed below from various European regions were among these producers.

• Christophhammer (1750–1874) blue color factory in Christophhammer
• Owl hut , actually and originally a glassworks . However, it can be considered the origin of the blue color works in the Ore Mountains, as blue glass has been produced here since around 1540.
