Ošelín (German Oschelin ) is a municipality with 167 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2019) in the Czech Republic . It is located 11 km northwest of Stříbro at an altitude of 478 m above sea level. M.
The village is located on a plateau to the right of the Mies valley above the confluence of the Šárka. The Ošelín stop is located two km north of the village in the valley on the Plzeň – Cheb railway line . The route of Dálnice 5 / European route 50 runs in the south of the municipality .
history
The first mention of the place comes from the year 1379. Until the abolition of the patrimonial Oschelin was divided between the dominions Weseritz and Schweißing . In 1939, 432 people lived in Oschelin including the districts of Goßlau, Ober- and Mittelplesau. In the period from January 1, 1980 to November 24, 1990, Ošelín was a district of Svojšín .
The most important buildings are the baroque Bartholomäus church and the baroque castle above the village. The rectangular palace complex with a passage and mansard roofs was built in the 2nd half of the 18th century on the site of a medieval fortress. Parts of the cellar vault still come from this previous building. Today the buildings are used by the municipality and the post office.
The originally Gothic parish church was given its present form in 1722. It was built at the highest point of the village and is surrounded by linden trees.
Community structure
The municipality of Ošelín consists of the districts Lobzy ( Labes ), Horní Plezom ( Oberplesau ), Ošelín, Plezom, also Střední Plezom ( Mittelplesau ) and Dolní Plezom ( Unterplesau ). Basic settlement units are Dolní Plezom, Horní Plezom, Lobzy and Ošelín.
The municipality is divided into the cadastral districts of Dolní Plezom, Horní Plezom, Lobzy u Ošelína and Ošelín. The abandoned village of Kozlov ( Goßlau ) is on the parish corridor .
