Novum Energy Houston Open 2016

The Novum Energy Houston Open 2016 took place May 12-15, 2016 in Houston , Texas , United States . The men's squash tournament was part of the PSA World Tour 2015/16 and belonged to the PSA 50 category .

Last year's winner was Mazen Hesham , who failed in the semifinals to Marwan Elshorbagy . Elshorbagy also won the final, beating Mohamed Abouelghar 11: 7, 9:11, 11: 9 and 11: 3.

The field of participants in the men's competition consisted of 16 players, four of which were starting places for qualifiers. Per Wildcard received Shahjahan Khan a spot in the main draw.

Prize money and world ranking points

At the tournament, the following prize money and world ranking points were paid out or credited for reaching the respective round. Players who entered the main field from qualification received the specified qualification points in addition to those for reaching the respective round. Otherwise the amounts are not to be understood as cumulative. The total prize pool was $ 50,000.
