The Counts of Nys (also Nyss , Nyß ) are an old noble family who immigrated to Bavaria from the former Spanish Netherlands and were raised to the rank of imperial count in 1762.

history

The family came to Flanders from Spain before 1650 . Jean Baptist Nys in Antwerp acquired the Spanish-Dutch nobility on September 2, 1671 in Madrid .

A descendant of this noble family in Flanders, Ludwig de Nys, entered the Bavarian military service at the beginning of the 18th century and gained a reputation as a Bavarian general. The officer, commandant of the cuirassier regiment Louis Marquis de Beauveau de Croan (1848: Royal Bavarian 2nd Chevaulegers Regiment "Taxis" ) from August 1, 1743 to July 6, 1747 , saved the 1743 in the unfortunate battle of Braunau in the War of the Austrian Succession Bavarian cavalry, he also distinguished himself as the commander of the Bavarian auxiliary troops in Holland. He was the owner of the Bavarian Monleon Infantry Regiment. (21.
