action

Ana Maria and her father are a simple family suffering from chronic financial problems. He lives separated from his wife Francisca and spends all of his money playing games, his daughter is a revue dancer and singer, and without the regular transfers from his aunt from Brazil, the family would be at an end long ago. The rock-solid small artist Miguel, meanwhile, dreams of a simple life in the country with his colleague Ana Maria.

However, that aunt from Brazil thinks the family is prosperous and surprisingly decides to come to visit. The lives of those involved get into turmoil, and the improvisational skills of Elias, father's windy playmate, are now used.

reception

The film is considered to be one of the last great successes of the heyday of Portuguese film . It is still popular in Portugal today, as are several other successful films by former UFA actor Arthur Duarte.

The film was broadcast several times on RTP public television . It was also released as a VHS cassette and later in various editions as a DVD by Lusomundo , after its restoration by the Cinemateca Portuguesa .
