Maria Olguim
Maria Cipriana Lobato Olguim (born April 26, 1898 in Castelo Branco , † January 1, 1984 in Figueira da Foz ) was a Portuguese actress .
Life
As a teenager she was a nurse in World War I. After her first film appearance in 1924, she played in an amateur theater . As the success of the Portuguese film began , the former UFA actor Arthur Duarte cast her for the first time in central roles in some of his most successful films, including O Costa do Castelo ("The Costa from the Castle District") and O Leão da Estrela ("The King of Estrela -Quarter"). This was followed by numerous other film roles for various directors, including Manuel Guimarães and Perdigão Queiroga , who established her as an actress. In 1980 she made her last film before she died in the seaside resort of Figueira da Foz in 1984 .
