Theodore Reed

Theodore Reed (born June 18, 1887 in Cincinnati , Ohio , † February 22, 1959 in San Diego , California ) was an American film producer and director. He was President of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences from 1933 to 1934 .

Life

He first studied at the University of Michigan and later worked as a script editor for Douglas Fairbanks' production company . He made his first film as a director called "The Nut" in 1921. With the beginning of the sound film era, he moved to United Artists as sound director, and in 1932 he switched to Paramount Pictures .
