Robert Rehme

Robert Rehme (born May 5, 1935 in Cincinnati , Ohio ) is an American film producer and past president of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences .

Life

Rehme graduated from the University of Cincinnati . Between 1972 and 1978 he was the managing director of Roger Corman's production company New World Pictures . He then moved to Avco Embassy Pictures , where he was Chief Executive Officer . During this time, the horror films Phantasm , The Fog and Das Tier were produced there. From 1981 to 1983 he was Chief Operating Officer for Universal Pictures before returning to New World Pictures as CEO and buying up Marvel Entertainment Group and Lions Gate Post Production Services , among others . 1989 New World Pictures was dissolved and Rehme founded his own production company with Mace Neufeld . For Paramount Pictures she produced The Hour of the Patriots , The Cartel and Beverly Hills Cop III .

Rehme was President of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences from 1992 to 1993 and between 1997 and 2001 , which is responsible for awarding the Oscars , among other things .
