The Upper Bavaria is a nightclub on the beach promenade of the Platja de Palma in Las Maravillas, a district of Palma .

The discotheque was opened in 1985 and offers mainly German tourist parties in the area of hits and mood music on just 200 m² . Every day there is a live performance by a mood singer. Artists who performed in Upper Bavaria included Peter Wackel , Oli P , Mia Julia , Matthias Reim , Jürgen Drews and more. Upper Bavaria is closed from November to April.

The restaurant is located in the basement of a larger building complex. Attached is the Bolero dance hall , where Schlager and Discofox are played for often older dance couples. Another club is Regine's , where chart and electro music is played for younger people .

In order to advertise the club, a group of men in traditional lederhosen, white and blue diamond shirts and so-called "Seppelhüte" roam the beaches and streets during the day, chanting slogans for Upper Bavaria.

Upper Bavaria is one of the most famous discos on the holiday island of Mallorca and is mentioned in various German travel guides. There it is referred to as “notorious” or “cult disco”.

In February 2015, the discotheque received media attention when the owner Miguel Pascual Biblione was arrested on charges of corruption . The arrest of Biblione, who also owns the Bierkönig and some table dance shops, took place as part of the "Operation Casablanca" ongoing against the Hells Angels .
