The Oberbergbach , in the upper reaches of the Alpeiner Bach , is a left tributary of the Ruetz in the Stubai Alps in Tyrol .

The Alpeiner Bach rises from the Alpeiner Ferner at an altitude of around 2540  m and flows northeast through the Oberbergtal past the Franz-Senn-Hut . From around the Oberissalm it is called Oberbergbach. At Seduck it turns in an arc to the southeast, where the Oberbergtal opens into the Stubai Valley and the Oberbergbach flows northeast of Milders into the Ruetz.

Catchment area

The natural catchment area of the Oberbergbach is 63.0 km², of which 8.1 km² (around 13%) are glaciated (as of 1988). The highest point in the catchment area is the Ruderhofspitze at 3474  m above sea level. A. At the Alpeineralm below the Franz-Senn-Hütte at an altitude of around 2000  m , the Alpeiner Bach is collected and diverted into the Längental reservoir of the Sellrain-Silz power plant . This reduces the effective catchment area by 23.7 km².
