The Honeysuckle line Bock , even honeysuckle line Bock ( Oberea pupillata ) is a beetle from the family of longhorn beetles (Cerambycidae).
features
The honeysuckle linebuck is 16 to 18, according to other sources 13 to 18 millimeters long. It has an orange pronotum with two elongated black spots on it. The legs, the inside of the wing cover base and the underside of the body are also orange. The elytra are gray haired. It is quite narrow for a longhorn beetle and is therefore reminiscent of a soft beetle .
Similar species
- Willow line buck Oberea oculata (Linnaeus, 1758). Elytres completely hairy black and gray.
Distribution and occurrence
The honeysuckle is found in Europe and Russia . In Central Europe only a few local populations can be found, most of which, if at all, are found at the edges of forests or in parks. In the latter, however, it sometimes occurs en masse. One example is Prague .
Way of life
The honeysuckle billybuck feeds exclusively on honeysuckle ( Lonicera ) during development . The larval stage lasts two to three years, the adults can be found from May to September.
