Obereubigheim is a small settlement in the municipality of Ahorn in the Main-Tauber district in Baden-Württemberg .

Geographical location

Obereubigheim is located in building land , a hilly arable landscape with forest islands on the steeper slopes of the valleys, determined by the shell limestone in the subsoil. The hamlet Obereubigheim over and then through the larger village (sub) Eubigheim part of such flows therethrough about the southwest here yet Eubigheimer Bach called Rinna , the big left headwaters tributary of the Kirnau .

Neighboring communities

In addition to the two parts of the municipality Obereubigheim and (Unter-) Eubigheim, there is the hamlet of Neidelsbach in a side valley.

history

Obereubigheim was first mentioned in a document in 1573 and has since been distinguished from (Unter-) Eubigheim (the old village). Obereubigheim was divided up as the estate of the barons of Bettendorf von Eubigheim. On December 1, 1971, the Eubigheim community was incorporated into the new Ahorn community.
