Hohenstadt is a district of the municipality of Ahorn in the Main-Tauber district in Baden-Württemberg .
geography
Hohenstadt is located about 2 km southwest of Eubigheim , where the municipal authorities are located, and 18–19 km southwest of the district town of Tauberbischofsheim and west of the city of Bad Mergentheim . The village is built expiring hill spur between the valleys of the still in the municipality Eubigheimer Bach called Kirnau influx Rinna in the southeast and its tributary long trench little rises in the west-southwest and south runs through the mouth of a long trench. The place is surrounded by the arable landscape of the building land , in which small forest islands are scattered only on the steeper slopes; only in the northern tip of the district is there a larger forest area that continues beyond the border.
history
Hohenstadt was first mentioned in a document in 1050. On December 1, 1971, the place was incorporated into the new municipality of Ahorn.

Hohenstadt is reached from Sindolsheim in the neighboring Neckar-Odenwald district in the west by a connecting road that joins the district road K 2840, which passes the place on its southeastern edge with Eubigheim in the northeast and (later under a different number) with Rosenberg in the southwest connects. The next train station is in Eubigheim on the Frankenbahn , the next motorway connection is the Boxberg exit near Berolzheim , which is about 6 km away on the road.
