The buildings are located in the north-western part of the district . Coming from the north, federal highway 179 runs south through the district. From here the street Försterei Klein Kammer branches off in an easterly direction. The Stintgraben runs to the south . The area is enclosed by several fences .

history

In the 14th century, the forests of the region were owned by the knight family of the Schenken von Landsberg and Seyda , who formed the Schenkenländchen . In a land register from 1700, a "Schützen Hauß" is mentioned next to a sheep farm in the Hammer Vorwerk . On December 18, 1717, Friedrich Wilhelm I acquired the lands from the last gift, Ludwig Alexander. The "Schützen Hauß" received his son August Wilhelm . Under his leadership, the Hammer Forest District was established in 1737 as part of the Princely Chamber. Among other things, it also managed the private assets of the Hohenzollern family and was therefore known as the Royal Forester's Office Hammer until the end of the First World War . During this time she was responsible for not only the forest areas in the forest district , but organized representative Court hunting parties. With the construction of Chausseestrasse (Bundesstrasse 179 in the 21st century), a Chausseehaus was added in 1860. 1864 6,000 were hectare eingegattert and with fallow deer and wild boar occupied, so that the hunting bag for the monarch and his aristocratic guests was successful. A horse stable was built around 1865, which was expanded and rebuilt between 1903 and 1905. In 1880 the facility was expanded to include a pigsty. In 1887 the timber-framed forest house from the 18th century burned down . From 1897 to 1898, craftsmen erected the central forest ranger's building with a garden as a so-called hunting lodge . In 1901 a house with an office building, a stable, a barn and a farm building were added. The last court hunt took place on November 8, 1913; 53 sows and 270 fallow deer were brought down. In 1937 the forestry department was renamed the Hammer Prussian Forestry Office . Shortly before the end of the Second World War , the staff of the 9th Army had temporarily quartered in the forest ranger's office. From there the breakthrough began, which went down in history as the Kesselschlacht von Halbe . After the end of the war, a chief forester's office was set up again in the building. Some parts of the building were used as a dormitory for forest apprentices and as a vehicle fleet for the state forestry company in Königs Wusterhausen . Until the forest reform in 1997, the Dahmetal forestry department was also located in the main building. In 2006 and 2007, the buildings were restored in accordance with the preservation of historical monuments and since then have been the seat of the state forest forest ranger's office in the state forest of Brandenburg. This sells game meat, among other things, but also organizes cultural events, including a cinema and a Christmas market.

Forest ways of reading

Lectern on the hiking trail

The Leseffahrten Waldweise is a 20 km touristic educational trail that was designed by the forest ranger's office together with the Austrian artist Wolfgang Georgsdorf . “Poetic texts on the forest, texts that have a magic effect” are exhibited on 50 lecterns. The Landesbetrieb Forst Brandenburg would like to draw attention to the "importance of the forest for the environment and for society". One of the four starting points is at the head forester's office.
