The von Oberländer family was a German aristocratic family.

The extensive family, also called Oberland or Oberlender , was wealthy in various areas, including in Upper Lusatia or partly as a follower of the Kulmbach-Bayreuth margraves in Vogtland . In Siebmacher's coat of arms they also appear as nobility in Bavaria, Saxony and Silesia.

The Vogtland possessions included Berg , Rudolphstein , Sachsenvorwerk , Saalbach and Blassenberg. Several family members reached high offices in margravial services, for example Johann Sigmund von Oberlander Festkommandant of Plassenburg and Hans Sigmund von Oberlander bailiff von Schauenstein . Another line was based on Weisbach and Rödern . There was a Russian bailiff from the family in Schleiz . In Cottenau , as part of the Vogtland knighthood, a line of its own developed. Johann Friedrich von Oberländer was a member of the Red Eagle Order , a coat of arms from 1732 is in the Order Church of St. Georgen in Bayreuth . In 1623 he was raised to the imperial nobility , in 1839 she was enrolled in the Kingdom of Bavaria .

The coat of arms shows the vertical silver hub of a wheel on a red background. The crowned crest consists of two golden rods, which are branched out three times. The silver wheel hub repeats itself in the middle, above it is a hammer iron or mill iron . The wheel hub is represented in different abstracts, partly vividly rounded, partly schematically as a square metal block. The helmet covers are in red and silver.
