The Pescara trolleybus is a local transport system that is currently being set up in the central Italian city of Pescara . As a nickname and marketing name, it is published as Filò .

Planning

A line is planned to connect the suburbs to the northwest and south with the center (train station and airport). In the long term, a connection to the existing Chieti trolleybus is being considered. However, only the section is currently under construction Station Pescara Centrale - Montesilvano to lying to the north neighboring community.

After construction work began in September 2010 and was interrupted several times, the route provided for electrical operation with eight Phileas trolleybuses on a disused railway line along the Via (le) della Liberazione - Via Castellamare Adriatico is now practically complete. There is no telling when traffic will begin.

Because although all political actors of all parties have repeatedly emphasized the necessity of the project, the construction and commissioning of citizens' initiatives were fought long and hard. This is also due to the fact that the chosen route consists largely of streets that have served as a park and pedestrian / bicycle zone for many years.
