The Lake Obernberg is a mountain lake in the Stubai Alps in the Austrian state Tirol . It is located at 1590  m above sea level. A. in a basin between the Tribulaun massif and the Allerleigrubenspitze south of Obernberg am Brenner near the main Alpine ridge and the border with South Tyrol .

Geography and hydrology

The area of ​​the lake is 16.5  hectares , making it one of the largest lakes in the North Tyrolean Central Alps. Several moraine walls indicate a historical glacier in the basin of the lake.

Fresh water is supplied through the Obernberger Seebach , but mostly through underground springs. The Seebach flows off again at the northern end of the lake. The water temperature of the lake is 11-14 ° C in summer.
