Oberndorf is a district of Höttingen in the central Franconian district of Weißenburg-Gunzenhausen . The place has 13 inhabitants and is at an altitude of 445 meters above sea level.
The small hamlet is located between Ottmarsfeld and Ellingen , around 2 km from Höttingen. Oberndorf is located on the Karlshof plateau , near the place is the source of the Schloßgraben , a small tributary of the Ottmarsfelder Graben . To the north was the Rhaetian Limes .
The village church, which was mentioned for the last time in 1504, was consecrated around 1190 by Eichstatt Bishop Otto von Bamberg . What happened to the church is unknown. Today's chapel with a Madonna statue and a saddle roof and tail gable dates from 1739. The single-storey farmhouse Oberndorf 4 is part of a four-sided courtyard and was built around 1752. In the First World War, two people died.
