Oberredwitz is a district of the large district town of Marktredwitz .

The origins of the village of Oberredwitz go back to the Anna Church and the manor .

On April 1, 1939, the previously independent community was incorporated into the town of Marktredwitz. Parts of the community were reclassified to Alexandersbad and Lorenzreuth .
