Oberredwitz Castle
The Oberredwitz castle was a castle in Marktredwitzer district Oberredwitz .
The manor goes back to the von Redwitz family , who sold their property to the Waldsassen monastery . Presumably the possessions went to the city of Eger along with other parts of Marktredwitz . Around 1400 the estate was then owned by the Nuremberg burgraves , who enfeoffed various noble families with it, including the Müffling called Weiß and the Teuffel von Birkensee . One of the owners was the bailiff of Stockenroth and Hallerstein Hans Heinrich Müffling called Weiß († 1637). The palace area consisted of an old and a new palace facing each other. The castle owners also had the church patronagethe adjoining Anna Church.
In 1970 the castle was demolished.
