Müffling or Müffling called Weiß is the name of a German noble family.

history

The origins of the family go back to the 13th century. The family initially had extensive property in the Bavaria and Upper Palatinate regions. In the middle of the 16th century the line of Müffling called Weiß emerged. Some family members embarked on a military career with the Prussian military. The family was raised to the baron status.

The bailiff of Stockenroth and Hallerstein Hans Heinrich Müffling called Weiß († July 7, 1637 in Streitau ) was the owner of Reichenfels , Hohenleuben and Prücklas . He then came into the possession of the manor in Oberredwitz and thus had the church patronage of the Anna Church . He later acquired Fattigau . He was buried in the Müffling crypt of the Sparneck St. Vitus Church. His descendants expanded their possessions in the Oberkotzau area , and for a short time they also owned a seat in Haideck .
