Obertopfstedt is a district of Topfstedt in the Kyffhäuserkreis in Thuringia .

Obertopfstedt is about 500 meters west of Niedertopfstedt on district road 12 with a connection to federal road 4 , which passes 500 meters further west . The district is located in the Thuringian hill country of the Thuringian basin .
history
The place Topfstedt was mentioned in documents 822-842. Obertopfstedt was first mentioned in a document in 1224. Niedertopfstedt (= Topfstedt) was named in 1271, so that before that time both villages were meant. A church was built in 1826 in place of a previous building. Until 1815, Obertopfstedt belonged to the administrative office of Weißensee .
