The Ocean Warrior is the flagship of the marine conservation organization Sea Sheperd Global . It is the first ship specially built for the organization and was launched in 2016. Home port is Amsterdam .

history

On January 26, 2015, the Dutch Post Code Lottery announced that it would donate € 8.3 million to Sea Shepherd to build a new ship. In March 2015 Sea Shepherd signed the contract for the new ship with the Dutch shipbuilder Damen Shipyards Group . The Ocean Warrior was finally launched on July 1, 2016 in the port of Antalya . The ship was named after a competition by Sea Shepherd supporters. In the first three years of its existence, the Ocean Warrior covered 79,500 nautical miles and was involved in the establishment of 72 fishing vessels.

Ship data

The Ocean Warrior is designed for long periods of use on the high seas. The four machines are served by extra large fuel tanks. The ship has a helicopter landing pad, a powerful water cannon (max. 20,000 liters per minute) and a 6.3 meter long rigid inflatable boat.
