Odal from Alten-Nordheim

Odal von Alten-Nordheim (born May 21, 1922 in Holzminden ; † July 28, 2004 ) was a German farmer and politician ( CDU ).

Life and work

After attending school, Alten-Nordheim was drafted into the Wehrmacht . He took part in World War II as a soldier from 1940 to 1945 and was last promoted to first lieutenant. He then worked in agriculture.

Born of the von Nordheim family, he inherited the Wormsthal estate as a result of adoption by the von Alten family . From 1950 he managed the agricultural and forestry operations there. He was also President of the General Association of German Agricultural and Forestry Employers 'Associations and Vice President of the Federal Association of German Employers' Associations . In addition, he was chairman of the Lower Saxony Land Association in the county of Schaumburg and deputy chairman of the Lower Saxony employers' association.

Political party
