Oderbrück is a district of the Lower Saxon town of Braunlage in the Goslar district .

geography

Local division

Oderbrück consists of the two settlements Oderbrück-Nord and -Süd, each of which consists of around ten buildings.

location

Both districts are to the east of federal highway 4 in the Hochharz at an altitude of around 800 meters between Torfhaus three kilometers northwest and Königskrug three and a half kilometers southeast.

history

Oderbrück has belonged to the town of Braunlage since November 11, 2011, into which the mountain town of Sankt Andreasberg , to which the district previously belonged, was incorporated.

The Gasthaus Oderbrück, located directly on the B 4, burned down completely in the night of June 15, 2010 as a result of arson. The ruin was demolished in 2012.

The settlement consists to a large extent of ski huts from various ski clubs from the Harz region, which set up group accommodations there, especially in the first half of the 20th century. This gave the members who do not live in snowy regions the opportunity to ski for several days in the high Harz mountains on weekends or holidays.
