Oderhaus is a district of the town of Braunlage in the district of Goslar in Lower Saxony .

Geographical location

Oderhaus is located in the Upper Harz on the edge of the Harz National Park between Sankt Andreasberg 3.7 km west-northwest, Braunlage 4.5 km north-east and Bad Lauterberg 10.2 km southwest. It is located south-south-west of the Schloßkopf ( 623.5  m above sea  level ) at about 425  m above sea level at the confluence of the Trutenbeek , which flows from the northeast, into the Oder, which flows from the north . In the hamlet, the state road  519 leading to Sankt Andreasberg branches off from the federal road 27 (Braunlage − Bad Lauterberg).

history

Until 1993, Oderhaus was the seat of a Lower Saxony forestry office , the Oderhaus forestry office . It was dissolved on January 1, 1994 with the establishment of the Harz National Park. The forester's house is now a branch of the National Park Service.

Until November 1, 2011, Oderhaus still belonged to the city of Sankt Andreasberg, with its incorporation the settlement finally became a district of the city of Braunlage.
