course

The Trutenbeek rises southwest of Braunlage at about 580  m above sea level. NN east-southeast of the castle head . Its source is near the B 27 . It flows along this road in a predominantly south-westerly direction through a narrow, wooded valley and flows into the Rhume tributary Oder at Oderhaus .

traffic

The Trutenbeek is accompanied by the Braunlage-Oderhaus section of Bundesstraße 27 . In the narrow brook valley, the road has a steep incline. For this reason, accidents used to occur regularly - with insufficient winter tires - which is why the lane in the direction of Braunlage was expanded to two lanes in order to be able to pass broken-down vehicles.
