Odette de Champdivers (* around 1385 in Burgundy , † 1424 in Paris ), called La Petite Reine , was the mistress of the French King Charles VI. and before that from his brother, Louis de Valois, duc d'Orléans .

Life

Odette de Champdivers, daughter of Odin de Champdivers, maitre de comptes, was called La Petite Reine by her contemporaries . Queen Isabeau de Bavière led her to the bed of the French king to relieve herself of the violence of her insane husband (he suffered from schizophrenia ). According to contemporary reports, for years she represented the queen in her clothing every night without the insane Charles VI. ever noticed this vertigo.

Odette's relationship with the king resulted in two illegitimate daughters. Marguerite was brought to the French court after the death of her mother and legitimized by her half-brother, King Charles VII , in 1427 .

Odette's brother Henri de Champdivers married Jeanne de Toulongeon (1382-1419), the widowed sister of André and Antoine de Toulongeon since the Battle of Azincourt (1415) .
