The company was founded in 1996 by Jens Odewald . He retired from operational business in 2010, but is still associated with the company as a member of the Supervisory Board. Odewald & Compagnie manages funds for institutional and private investors. a. Insurance companies and asset management companies. Mutual funds are not part of the portfolio. Between 1996 and 2012, over 1 billion euros were invested in German medium-sized companies. The company was considered one of the most active private equity investors in German medium-sized companies; From 2015, however, the company gradually withdrew from the original medium-sized business and concentrated on business with small and medium-sized enterprises of Odewald KMU.
