Odynoke ( Ukrainian Одиноке ; Russian Одинокое Odinokoje , German Einsiedel , from 1939 Polish Średnia ) is a village in the western Ukrainian Lviv Oblast with about 180 inhabitants.
With the villages Dubjanka ( Дуб'янка ) Schufrahanka ( Шуфраганка ) Serdyzja ( Сердиця municipal) and the settlement type Schtschyrez ( Щирець ) belonged until 2017 to the settlement council community Schtschyrez, on 29 October 2017, the village became part of the newly established settlement community Schtschyrez ( Щирецька селищна громада Schtschyrezka selyschtschna hromada ).
history
The village was established in 1786 in the course of the Josephine colonization on the grounds of the village of Serdyzja . German Mennonite colonists were settled there. The colony was called Einsiedel and became an independent municipality. Mennonites were also settled in the neighboring colonies of Falkenstein and Rosenberg . The Mennonites of these three colonies were initially regarded as Lutherans against their will and, along with other Protestants, belonged to the parish of Dornfeld within the Evangelical Superintendentur AB Galizien . Only in 1909, after the legal number of 100 families had been exceeded, was a separate Mennonite parish founded.
In 1900 the community of Einsiedel had 32 houses with 248 inhabitants, of which 215 were German-speaking, 15 Polish-speaking, 18 Ruthenian-speaking, 12 Roman Catholic, 21 Greek Catholic, 6 Jews, 209 of other faiths.
After the end of the Polish-Ukrainian War in 1919, Einsiedel came to Poland. In 1921 the community had 56 houses with 321 inhabitants, including 126 Ruthenians, 119 Germans, 73 Poles, 3 Jews (nationality), 128 Greek Catholics, 119 Protestants, 71 Roman Catholics, 3 Jews (religion).
On May 24, 1939 the name Einsiedel was changed to Średnia .
During the Second World War it belonged first to the Soviet Union and from 1941 to the General Government, from 1945 back to the Soviet Union, now part of the Ukraine . The Germans who were then still resident were resettled in 1940 as a result of the German-Soviet border and friendship treaty.
