Ofelia Island (English, Bulgarian остров Офелия ostrow Ofelija ) is a southeast-northwestern extension 560 m long and 270 m wide island in the group of Joinville Islands off the northeastern tip of the Antarctic Peninsula . In Ambush Bay on the north coast of Joinville Island , it is 3.18 km south-southwest of King Point , 4.72 km west-southwest of Dalrymple Point and 7.9 km north-northeast of the Taylor Nunatakker .
British scientists mapped them in 1973. The Bulgarian Commission for Antarctic Geographical Names named them in 2018 after the Bulgarian trawler Ofelia , who had been fishing the waters around South Georgia from September 1977 to April 1978 under Captain Nikola Levenov .
