The Office Port Bonn is a building complex in the Bonn district of Gronau , which was built in 2006/07. It is part of the headquarters of Deutsche Telekom AG .

location

The “Office Port” is located in the federal quarter on the east side of Friedrich-Ebert-Allee ( Bundesstrasse 9 ), a few meters north of the intersection with the A 562 . The postal address is Friedrich-Ebert-Allee 71-77. The corporate headquarters of Deutsche Telekom is opposite the building .

history

During Bonn's time as the seat of government of the Federal Republic of Germany, the British embassy (1952/53), the headquarters of the German Red Cross ( Hans Schwippert ; 1953/54) and the Bonnfinanz company (architect: Dirk Denninger ) as well as the party headquarters of the CDU , the Konrad-Adenauer-Haus (1972). After the relocation of the seat of government to Berlin in 1999, most of the buildings were no longer needed. Deutsche Telekom had already acquired the site in 1998 and has now demolished all buildings, including the listed DRK headquarters. Most recently, on December 14, 2003, the former Konrad-Adenauer-Haus was blown up.

Originally, construction was to start in early 2004. Due to austerity measures to reduce debts, the previous planning was abandoned and a new, limited architectural competition was carried out, from which the Cologne architect Thomas van den Valentyn emerged as the winner. The development of the 60 million euro project was entrusted to the Telekom subsidiary Corpus Sireo Asset Management Commercial GmbH , which was able to win the Landesentwicklungsgesellschaft Baden-Württemberg (LEG) and FOM GmbH as investors. LEG financed the building and leases it to Telekom; it was built by Hochtief .

On May 5, 2006, after several weeks of preparatory work, the foundation stone for the building was laid, and the topping-out ceremony was celebrated on May 16, 2007. Moving into the four parts of the building began in March 2008 and was completed around three months later. After moving in, the side areas of the B 9 were redesigned with funds from the urban development measure Bundesviertel for 900,000 euros, with a cycle path , green strip and footpath. As part of the construction project, the federal quarter green corridor was also created to the south and east of the office port as a buffer to the A 562 , which is intended to increase biodiversity . From September 2009 to April 2010, a publicly accessible pedestrian bridge was built to improve the connection with the Telekom headquarters.

architecture

The Office Port is a complex of four U-shaped building parts on an area of 20,000 m² with a length of 260 meters and a width of 49.5 meters. They are oriented towards the B 9 with six-story wings and towards the rear residential area (so-called “Johanniterviertel”) with three- and four-story wings. Underneath is an underground car park with 644 parking spaces.

The floor area is 60,634 m², of which 33,929 m² are above ground and 26,705 m² are underground.
