The Office World , based in Bolligen is in the areas of office supplies , office equipment and office furniture active Swiss retail company , and was a wholly owned subsidiary of the Migros -Konzerns. The company operates 22 branches and employs around 240 people. In 2007 the company generated sales of 106 million Swiss francs.

history

Office World was founded in 1991 as a company within the Globus Group. This was sold in 1997 by the Bitterli family to Migros, which continued the Globus Group as an independent company until the end of 2006.

On January 1, 2007, the group structure of the Globus Group was dissolved. The individual companies of the former Globus Group, including Office World, have since been run as independent companies within the Migros Group.

On October 16, 2017, Migros announced that it would sell the Office World Group (OWiba) to the Austrian MTH Retail Group (MTH) .

On February 28, 2018, it was announced that the former Migros boss Herbert Bolliger and Möbel Pfister boss Matthias Baumann will sit on the OWiba Board of Directors. In addition, the two take a seat on the supervisory board of MTH Holding.

In 2019 the branches in Brig , Conthey and Dübendorf will be closed.
