History and description
The two-storey villa with neo-baroque elements was built in 1908 according to plans by the architect Georg Küchler . The continuous house cube has a beaver -tail-covered mansard roof . On the ground floor there is a semicircular bay window supported by light sandstone columns with ornate capitals . The window parapets and walls as well as the continuous cornices are also made of yellow sandstone. The northwest corner window on the upper floor has a striking border and a wrought-iron flower grille . The medallion - shaped gable window in the attic belongs to the neo-baroque style . The sandstone wall of this window resembles a drapery and is decorated with a stylized wreath of fruit. The villa also includes the historical enclosure with an elaborate grid and ornate ashlar posts with a matching garden gate. The use of yellow sandstone is unusual for Darmstadt.
