Olaf Spandolf

Olaf Spandolf (born January 16, 1958 ) is a former German soccer player who was active for Hansa Rostock in the GDR upper league between 1976 and 1982 .

Athletic career

At the age of 13, Spandolf joined the FC Hansa Rostock children's team in 1971. He went through all junior classes before he was used for the first time in the men's area in the 1976/77 season. He was initially intended for the junior league, where he completed all games up to the 9th game day as a midfielder. On November 6, 1976 he had his debut in a league point game as a substitute in the encounter between FC Rot-Weiß Erfurt - FC Hansa (2-1). By the end of the season, 1.82 m tall Spandolf had a total of 13 league appearances, in which he was usually in the starting line-up and also scored two goals. At the end of the 1976/77 season, FC Hansa had to relegate to the GDR league , but managed to get promoted again immediately. Spandolf was involved with 14 missions and four goals in 22 point and eight promotion games. For the season 1978/79 Spandolf was registered for the 1st team, but was mainly used in the junior league. In the league he only played twice.

After Hansa Rostock could not hold the class again, Spandolf played from September 1979 to May 1981 for GDR league club Schiffahrt / Hafen Rostock . He played there a total of 40 point games and helped the team to win the relay in 1981. He also took part in the eight promotion games, but as fourth in the promotion round, shipping / port missed the promotion.

For the 1981/82 season Spandolf returned to FC Hansa, which was now back in the league. Up to the 7th match day he was regularly used as a libero , after that he was only used on the 10th and 11th matchday in the league team. The rest of the season he was called up again in the junior league.

After the end of the season, Spandolf and his teammates Uwe Bloch , Bodo Klüßendorf and Karsten Wenzlawski from FC Hansa were delegated back to Shipping / Rostock Harbor in the summer of 1982. Since he was no longer under the special sponsorship of a sports club, Spandolf was drafted into a one-year reserve service in the People's Army after eight point matches in November 1982 . During this time he also played in the GDR league with the Army Sports Association (ASG) Vorwärts Neubrandenburg and completed 21 point games there. This was followed by two short positions at the third-rate district division club BSG KKW Greifswald (until June 1985) and at Stahl Eisenhüttenstadt (until December 1985). The last stop in national football was ISG Schwerin from January 1986 . You helped Spandolf to rise to the GDR league, in which he played 33 of the 34 point games carried out in the 1986/87 season. At the end of the season he went back to the district league with the ISG.
