Olaf Stoy

Olaf Stoy (born June 20, 1959 in Dippoldiswalde ) is a German porcelain artist and author.

Life

From 1976-78, Stoy did an apprenticeship as a ceramist at the Saxon Porcelain Manufactory Dresden in Freital - Potschappel , where he worked from 1978 to 2003 as a mold caster, retoucher and head modeler. Between 1979 and 1981 he completed an evening course in graphics and sculpture at the Dresden University of Fine Arts . He deals with painting, graphics, sculpture, experimental photography, as well as prose and poetry. In 2001 he was a founding member of Dresdner Porzellankunst eV. In 2005 he founded the studio for art and design in Bannewitz near Dresden and has been working as a freelance artist ever since. In 2014, the Bannewitz studio moved to the Freital technology and start-up center . It has been in Dorfhain since June 2019 .
